Alsop & Walker - East Sussex
As well as the Lord London from Alsop & Walker, Mayfield is another of my favourites and has been since I first tried the cheese nearly ten years ago. Its firm, a semi-hard cheese which is creamy and reminds me of a Gouda type cheese with an Emmental look however it is completely unique with a sweet nutty taste. It contains naturally developed oval shaped eyes in its interior. The cheese is aged for five to seven months and has won awards at the Great Taste, British Cheese and World Cheese Awards.
