Made exclusively from the milk of welfare assured, grass-fed cows in Rudgwick, West Sussex, perhaps the Sussex Charmer is the most popular cheddar style cheese made in the county. It combines the creaminess of a mature farmhouse cheddar with the zing of an Italian style hard cheese. It has a strong, mature flavour, a crumbly texture and it is great for cheese on toast. It compliments many fruits and it is delicious grated over pasta with a strong creamy taste. The cheese has won several awards including the Best British Cheddar at the Quality Food Awards in 2017.
